Hey people!

I need your feedback.
I've been inspired to write new music lately and have finished two new tracks. Now I'm wondering what to do with them... I can save them for another album, but having already released 8 albums, I was thinking of trying out a new model.

Instead of saving my tracks for an album, I could release each new track as it comes, on Bandcamp. I like this idea because I can finish a track and then you guys have it in your hands almost immediately. My hope would be to create a nice and direct connection between my musical output and my followers, and I would find it exciting to be working on a track and know that people will get to listen to it while it's still super fresh.

OR should I stick with albums?

Let me know your thoughts!! 🙂

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts it's interesting to read them, probably will try out the singles release at least for a little while and see how it goes...stay tuned!

Releasing a song as you create it is good because you can die in a traffic accident and we couldn't listen to it

Well to be honest, if you’re concentrating on feedback, it would be best i believe, to release each song individually, then after each song, the feedback would come for that specific song maybe giving you inspiration for the next one following soon after. Giving you a glimpse into what to dive into depending on the success of that track and what piece has caught the attention of your fans! See you soon! Mauritian Fan 🇲🇺

Albums for me Tim. I like to be album to sit down and listen to your new stuff in one hit. More of journey more together as set of music. That being said I'll listen to it regardless

I can't wait to listen you new tracks, but I feel every album has a different concept and sound, tracks share a common idea. That's how I felt your different albums and I don't think you can get that releasing individual tracks. Great artists release albums, not tracks. I had lost my interest in psytrance until I heard your latest albums! Anyway whatever you do, I'll listen anyway 🙂

I asked a similar question on a forum a few years ago and the overwhelming response I got from listeners was that they preferred albums to eps.

I love the album philosophy if its a concept, if its random tracks than single/ep 🙂

i've been feeling the same way - I think for where i'm at in life right now, a "little and often" approach makes more sense If I had 3-6 months of dedicated, funded, project-time I would write an album, but the reality is i'm juggling music making with so many other things, I think i'd rather release a track every month or so, than an album every 2-3 years

It makes more Sense , especially since it’s digital age now .. also as you don’t want be wasting more time to complete more music for an album to fit the track In .. instead release that single and have the creative freedom to work on something completely different and fresh to your ears . Keeps the musicians spirit alive .

No need for an album now days unless it is a concept one. Let them out! 🙂

If you playing lots of gigs I would say don't release straight away so you keep your set fresh and people will get to experience that tune on the dance floor anyway how it should be but if that's not the case probably yes go for it and release it, as a dj I would love to hear it and if I like it I will probably buy it as well. P.S. It was a pleasure to meet you at twisted Frequency Festival last new years. Keep it up =D

What about EP's? Less pressure to have a full albums worth of music to put out; you could even do a triptych or something similar, release 1 EP at a time as you're ready.

Single Release is great! more music sooner for all...unless the tracks tell a story that relates and should/could come out together... if not, then pop them out.

No, stick with albums! Until Bandcamp manages to somehow put single tracks in collections, sort & filter them out; I'm not buying single tracks. A "release" worth buying starts for me from 3 tracks.

Personally i release each track as its made.. i can never save

It depends on context. If they’re random tracks, then singles. If they work together as a concept, then ep/album. But you should play them live a few times before releasing. Keep your shows interesting!

Should at least give it a try on the single releases, I guess

You'll only find out by trying. If it suits you keep it, if not drop it. As for albums I think of them as an idea spread over multiple tracks. If they are more individual why not sell em immediately? And compile an album afterwards...haha the bandcamp collection vol 1 😉 😀

I did this 1 track as soon as it is finished and then compiled them in to an album for Flembaz 'Tripalle'. I think this engaged listeners a lot

Like the idea of singles! We get new music as soon it's ready which is amazing.! You can add it to a EP later as well..

Few EPs, and after the same tracks as the album. Followers/supporters will decide what to buy. I will try this

In my opinion better way is showing us your last ideas and start a newones. Producers evolving day by day and I would like to be up to date with them. Waiting for LP is annoying

Bandcamp when they're still hot, then compile all with some bonus material and remixes in a nice box set album !! We don't get new Sensient music that often anymore, so can't wait for an album to compile 😉

I like the idea, very suitable for your music style and a great way to connect with your fans more directly! Way to go!!! I support fully!

Maybe put out every other track you finish and keep some special ones back for DJ sets and a larger release? Love your tuna by the way x
